SANDY, Utah, Feb. 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mountain America Credit Union’s 2019 scholarship program is now underway, with a total of six scholarships being offered to credit union members and their families. The scholarships are awarded based on a student’s career aspirations and community involvement.

These scholarship opportunities help members elevate service-minded causes, pursue their career aspirations and ultimately enrich our communities,” notes Sharon Cook, chief marketing officer at Mountain America.
Mountain America Scholarship
Mountain America awards $2,000 each to three winners of the Mountain America Scholarship, which is available for Mountain America Credit Union members or their families. One scholarship is awarded in each of the following categories: community and social service, finance, and technology and trades majors.
Applications are now available on macu.com/scholarships. Applications must be completed by the student and submitted to Mountain America by April 26, 2019.
Mountain America Scholarship winners will be notified and their names announced on the company website by June 9, 2019. Presentation of the scholarship awards will be held in June.
Utah Public Employees’ Association Scholarship
Mountain America also offers three $1,000 scholarships as part of the Utah Public Employees’ Association (UPEA) Scholarship Program. This scholarship is available for those who are Mountain America and UPEA members or their dependents who live in Utah.
UPEA Scholarship applications are now available on macu.com/scholarships and upea.net. Applications must be completed and submitted to UPEA by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019. Scholarships will be awarded on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the UPEA General Council recognition dinner in downtown Salt Lake City at the Sheraton Hotel.
