Seattle, Washington, Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Special Olympics Washington is putting on one of 2019’s coolest parties of the year: the 2019 Polar Plunge series. The event series will take place in six cities across the state and is one of Special Olympics Washington’s largest fundraisers, benefitting 18,000 athletes across Washington.
Dates and locations for 2019 Special Olympics Washington Polar Plunge events are:
- Saturday, January 5: Seattle Super Plunge and Media Preview Day at Alki Beach
- Saturday, January 19: Tri-Cities Polar Plunge at Columbia Point Marina Park in Richland
- Saturday, February 9: Wenatchee Polar Plunge at Walla Walla Point Park
- Saturday: February 9: Seattle Polar Plunge and Guinness World Record attempt at Alki Beach
- Saturday, February 22: Spokane Super Plunge at Liberty Lake Village HOA
- Sunday, February 23: Spokane Polar Plunge at Liberty Lake Village HOA
- Saturday, March 9: Anacortes Dash & Splash Polar Plunge and 5K at Seafarers’ Memorial Park
- Saturday, March 9: Tacoma Polar Plunge at Owen Beach
For the Seattle Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 9, polar plungers everywhere are invited to help break the Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous polar plungers. More than 1,800 participants with warm hearts and nerves of steel are needed to crush the current Guinness World Record set in 2015 in Poland.
