CHICAGO, June 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Krakus®, the true imported Polish Ham, along with the Polish American Congress of Eastern Massachusetts, celebrated the restoration of Pulaski Park during a dedication ceremony last month at Polish Fest 2018.
Over the past two years, Krakus has contributed $12,000 to local Polonia organizations in their efforts to restore Pulaski Park. The brand’s contribution provided all building materials needed to replace brick walls and sidewalks and allowed for a new set of flag poles and park landscaping.
The Polish American Congress of Eastern Massachusetts unveiled a Krakus plaque commemorating the brand’s involvement in the Polish community and dedicating a portion of Pulaski Park to highlight the brand’s contributions in restoring this important community park.
“Krakus is proud of its Polish heritage and recipes, which have been passed down for years,” said Michael Baughman, Smithfield Foods director of marketing. “Gathering together over traditional cuisine at special events is extremely important in celebrating the Polish culture and community. We are honored to help restore this park so it can be a place where families can come together and celebrate.”
“Food plays an important role in Polish culture,” said Mark Wisniewski, Polish American Congress of Eastern Massachusetts director. “It means a lot to have Krakus help us continue to foster Polish heritage with both their traditional product offerings and the brand’s generous donations, which have helped make Pulaski Park a great space for our local community. We were proud to dedicate the Krakus plaque and look forward to using the park to foster Polish tradition and culture for years to come.”
The Polish American Congress is a national umbrella organization representing at least 10 million Americans of Polish descent and origin. The Polish American community prides itself on its deeply rooted commitment to the values of family, faith, democracy, hard work, and the fulfillment of the American dream.
