Energy Matters: How COP21 can shift the energy sector
onto a low-carbon path that supports economic growth and energy access

On Wednesday, 25 November 2015
At 15h00 - 16h00 Paris time

Energy drives economic growth and social development around the world. It produces two thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions, and so lies at the heart of the climate change challenge. Decision-makers gathering in Paris for COP21 must therefore build a climate agreement that is effective for energy: shifting energy sector operations and investments onto a low-carbon path that also continues to support growth and development.

In this webinar and the accompanying report, Energy Matters: How COP21 can shift the energy sector onto a low-carbon path that supports economic growth and energy access, the IEA will offer its insights into the key short- and long-term actions needed to deliver transformational change of energy systems that is required to meet climate goals and will make specific suggestions on how the climate negotiations process could better support this transformation.

Note: The webinar Energy Matters: How COP21 can shift the energy sector onto a low-carbon path that supports economic growth and energy access will be uploaded to the IEA website after the event.
