Work Zone Cam Celebrates Summer with its National Building Museum Time-Lapse

WASHINGTON, DC, July 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Things are heating up this summer season at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., with the addition of its newest exhibit, the BEACH. Work Zone Cam, a popular supplier of affordable time-lapse construction cameras, brought beach-goers behind the scenes for an exclusive look at the construction of the interactive installation and today released a time-lapse movie of the entire process.

Known as America's premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, design, engineering, construction and urban planning, the Museum successfully partnered with Work Zone Cam on last summer's The BIG Maze. This year's project team choose the webcam company again for its ability to provide crisp 18 megapixel digital SLR images, as well as professional time-lapse editing and marketing support. The camera expertly captured the transformation of the space, inviting visitors to watch on a public webpage as the vision for this new summer destination spot came to life. Work Zone Cam's producers hand-edited the images into a time-lapse movie, highlighting progress from June 2 to July 6 in just 60 seconds.

"We are thrilled to have Work Zone Cam as a partner on the interactive, indoor installation of the BEACH in Washington, D.C. Its technology offers an unparalleled view of this one-of-a-kind, temporary structure inside our historic home, and makes it possible to share the experience with people around the world," said Brett Rodgers, Vice President for Marketing & Communications at the National Building Museum.

A unique concept by Brooklyn-based architecture firm Snarkitecture, the design brings all of the quintessential beach elements indoors. Visitors to the BEACH can "swim" through nearly one million recyclable translucent plastic balls, lounge under umbrellas in beach chairs and grab a bite at the snack bar. Built by volunteers from CoStar Group, Clark Construction, UBS and Davis Construction, the BEACH is D.C.'s destination for the summer.
