Attendees Gather in Arizona to Share Knowledge on Healthcare Industry Best Practices, Help Support Local Residents with Desert Mission
Waltham, Mass., September 9, 2014 - Verisk Health, a leader in data-driven healthcare solutions, will host hundreds of industry leaders and decision makers at its sixth annual conference at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, from September 9 to 11. Attendees will network, collaborate, and debate today's healthcare challenges and opportunities under the theme "Moving Healthcare Forward." This year's theme reflects Verisk Health's ongoing commitment to transform the business of healthcare by providing data services, analytics, and advanced technologies that answer the healthcare industry's most complex challenges. During the three-day conference, attendees will learn about real-world examples from industry experts, participate in valuable networking opportunities, and hear thought-provoking keynotes that address the challenges and opportunities in the healthcare industry. Verisk Health Conference (VHC) 2014 includes presentations from Nancy Turnbull, associate dean for professional education and senior lecturer, Harvard School of Public Health, and Governor Michael O. Leavitt, former governor of Utah and Secretary of Health and Human Services. Both speakers will shine a light on healthcare reform in two separate presentations. Former Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Deputy Director Theodore M. "Ted" Doolittle will also discuss the agency's antifraud, waste, and abuse efforts.
Conference topics will include CMS data submission and compliance, fraud detection and special investigations unit (SIU) tactics, population and patient risk mitigation, HEDIS and Five-Star reporting, and more.
VHC attendees will also have the opportunity to give back to the local community through Desert Mission. This important program helps meet the basic needs of vulnerable community members so they can reach their full potential for health and self-sufficiency. VHC 2014 participants will work together to sort and package nutritious nonperishable foods that will help feed members of the local community.
