Canadian North Airlines Now Offers Inuktitut Website

To better serve Inuktitut-speaking customers, Canadian North now offers full service online and on the phone.


YELLOWKNIFE, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES--(Marketwire - Oct. 27, 2011) - Canadian North expands its services by offering Inuktitut online and on the phone for Inuktitut-speaking customers. The new website is a replica of the English website, offering the same information and updates.

Highlights of the site include - the ability to:

  • Book your travel
  • Change an existing reservation
  • View how many flights are needed to achieve Aurora Concierge status
  • See how many Aeroplan Miles will be earned when flying
  • Find what is required to ship country foods to other communities

Inuktitut is an official language in both Nunavut and Northwest Territories, with more than 35,000 people reported to speak the language, according to the 2006 Canadian census. "Much of our business comes from communities where Inuktitut is the language predominately spoken. We are happy to offer these new services to our customers in these communities," says Lorraine Bonner, Vice President, Scheduled Service.
