Northrop Grumman Shipbuilders Awarded for Excellence


NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Sept. 27, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) recognized 75 shipbuilders from Newport News for their significant accomplishments supporting quality and continuous improvement, at an annual Model of Excellence (MOE) awards luncheon held on Sept. 9.

The MOE awards celebrate the contributions of shipbuilders who make a difference in shipbuilding performance or innovation through a relentless focus on quality and continuous improvement.

The MOE selection board reviewed 54 team project nominations submitted by more than 400 shipbuilders. The winners are chosen for exceptional work in four categories: Customer Satisfaction, Leadership, Operational Excellence and Innovation and Technology.
