First Place Financial Corp. Announces $80 Million Common Stock Offering


WARREN, Ohio, June 3, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- First Place Financial Corp. (Nasdaq:FPFC) today announced its intention to commence a public offering of approximately $80 million of common stock and as an initial step in this process it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined. The offering is part of a capital strategy designed to build on the company's strengths and improve its results. The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes which may include organic growth and acquisition opportunities, including possible participation in FDIC assisted transactions. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods will serve as sole underwriter for the offering.
