WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., April 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Applications are still being accepted through April 30, 2010, for the third annual Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) Engineering Scholars competition, which will provide a total of $20,000 in college scholarships across local counties this year to promising high school seniors interested in studying engineering.
Individual scholarships of $10,000 will be awarded by Northrop Grumman this spring to two qualified graduating high school seniors in communities neighboring the company's Navigation Systems Division facility in Woodland Hills. Candidates must plan to attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student in an approved engineering program and must attend an accredited high school in Los Angeles or Ventura County. The funds may be used for tuition, books, lodging and meals.
A committee of Northrop Grumman employees will select the Engineering Scholars winners. Each applicant must be a graduating senior in the spring of 2010 from a public or accredited private high school in the sponsoring location. Applicants for the scholarship program must also meet minimum SAT/ACT and GPA requirements. Recipients of any other Northrop Grumman-sponsored scholarships are not eligible. The application deadline is April 30.
