Business Traveler magazine, directed at US business passengers, has ranked Finnair's business class as the best among Nordic airlines. Behind the decision were ratings given by the magazine's frequent flyers. Finnair has invested more in enhancing the travel experience and comfort of business class passengers. Finnair's latest Airbus A330 aircraft has a fully revamped business class with a new type of full-flat seat that reclines to horizontal as well as a new lay-out that allows more seats to be offered while at the same time providing more privacy. In the new business class, a third of business class customers can select a full-flat seat that sits alone, without any adjacent seat. Finnair is one of the first airlines in the world to introduce the seats. Services aimed at Finnair's business passengers also include the new generation Via Spa and the modern Via Lounge, which opened at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on 11 December. The lounge and spa will offer unique wellness and comfort services, particularly for Finnair's transit passengers travelling between Europe and Asia. "The Via Spa environment is unique in the world of airports and it communicates the fact that Finnair really cares for the wellbeing of its customers," explains Markku Remes, Finnair's Customer Experience Development Manager. In addition, Finnair recently opened at Helsinki-Vantaa Terminal T2 a Priority Lane check-in area, where the security checking of business passengers is handled more quickly during morning and evening rush hours. The readers of Business Traveler magazine include some of the world's foremost business passengers, who make an average of 24 return flights per year.
