Learn a Valuable Lesson as You Meet the Penniless Prince -- New Picture Book Follows the Adventures of a Frog With Nothing But Determination and a Pure Heart

SURREY, British Columbia, June 22, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teach the little ones the values of honesty and humility as Xlibris releases a charming tale by Nancy Holt, The Penniless Prince.

As soon as King Larry Long Legs of Frolicking Frogland decided that his daughter, Princess Carmela, should be married, he makes sure that the best suitors in the land would come to him for an interview. Thus, he sends the Royal Criers to far away ponds to announce that Princess Carmela would choose a husband, who would later become the prince. The interview boils down to three candidates who will compete to find a protected flag. The lucky candidates are Dudley Doolittle who is very rich, Mojo Magic who is impressive for his tricks and magic, and of course, Penniless Perry.

Penniless Perry is a poor frog who is known as "Promising Perry" for working hard and having a dream of doing great things. He is joining the competition not because he wants to become a prince, but because he has always been in love with the princess. With contenders as rich as Dudley Doolittle, and as interesting as Mojo Magic, will Perry stand a chance in winning Princess Carmela's heart? Will his pure heart and sincerity lead him to victory?

With vibrant illustrations and an exciting story, The Penniless Prince is bound to provide a fun, magical reading and bonding moment for you and your kids!
