(Nasdaq:TWLL), a leading designer of mixed signal video semiconductor solutions for the security surveillance, automotive, and consumer electronics markets, today announced that Punch Video Inc, a leading Taiwan based design and manufacturer of automotive aftermarket video entertainment and information systems, has designed-in Techwell's ultra low cost TW8827 LCD controller into Punch Video's latest rear seat flip down and head rest entertainment systems.

The TW8827 is an ultra low cost, highly integrated LCD TFT flat panel controller supporting analog panels. The TW8827 integrates a high quality NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder, de interlacer, and Scaler. To reduce BOM cost, TW8827 has an integrated 8-bit MCU, a CCFL controller and a LED controller. In addition, TW8827 provides flexibility and scalability to designers by supporting various input sources such as 16-bit digital RGB/YCbCr through a built-in digital interface that is critical for navigation & DVD applications.
