ARQUES Industries AG: Statement concerning the press release of Aurelius AG

Starnberg, 15 September 2008 – The Executive Board of ARQUES Industries AG
(ISIN DE0005156004) notes the announcement by Munich-based Aurelius AG that
Aurelius and associated companies have acquired a stake in ARQUES and have
exceeded the threshold of three per cent of the shares outstanding. In
addition, the Executive Board of ARQUES notes that Aurelius intends to
change the composition of the boards of ARQUES to its benefit and intends
to combine the activities of ARQUES and Aurelius.
The Executive Board of ARQUES does not influence the composition of the
shareholder structure of ARQUES in general. The Executive Board will review
whether the intended board changes are in connection with a value-enhancing
transaction, i.e. a takeover offer in cash. When conducting the review, the
Executive Board will protect the interests of ARQUES and its shareholders.
