Secure Passage Announces FireMon 4.0

Latest Release Improves Industry-Leading Solution With Advanced Planning and Analysis Features, Enhanced Cisco Firewall Support, and Updated User Interface

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - April 8, 2008) - Secure Passage, the market leader in Security Operations Management solutions, today announced the release of FireMon 4.0. The latest release of FireMon provides new features and enhancements that further enable organizations to improve network security by better managing their security environments.

FireMon is security device analysis software that provides visibility into a network and control of configurations to improve network security. FireMon actively observes firewalls, routers, switches, and even underlying platforms for change. Then FireMon analyzes configurations and changes to ensure proper device operation.

"FireMon 4.0 is a significant advancement from our earlier product offerings. Our goal with this release was to introduce additional valuable features that further our customers' security efforts," says Jody Brazil, CTO of Secure Passage. "Also in this release we are excited to extend one of our most popular features, Policy Usage Analysis, to Cisco PIX and ASA devices. Additionally, FireMon 4.0 has a new feature, Policy Test, which is a top customer feature request. And there are several enhancements to the graphical user interface for an improved user experience."

As of today, more than 20 customers are using FireMon 4.0. Some of the early adopters include two large U.S. financial institutions, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, several industry-leading insurance companies, and a variety of other organizations.

Rob Bykowski, COO of Secure Passage, believes the promising download rate is due to growing business pressure on companies to maintain security while providing continuous, proper network access with fewer employees and tighter budgets. "IT departments are being asked to do more work with fewer resources. In turn, they are looking to Secure Passage to help them meet their security goals more efficiently," says Bykowski. "Based on feedback from our current customers, our company background in security operations, and usability research, we have included several new features and an improved GUI in FireMon 4.0. We were hoping that customers would find great value in FireMon 4.0. This early adoption list is a good first indicator that they do."

The functionality and enhancements in the FireMon 4.0 release strengthen the foundation of FireMon's four key capabilities: Monitor, Control, Analyze, and Optimize. The new functionality is also part of a FireMon feature list that includes Change Control, Compliance, Configuration Management, and Usage Analysis. FireMon supports network security devices from Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd., Cisco Systems, Nokia Corporation, Juniper Networks, Crossbeam Systems, and Blue Coat Systems, Inc.

Existing customers with current software subscriptions can download FireMon 4.0 from the Secure Passage User Center. All other inquiries may be directed to Secure Passage at +1 (816) 421-1901. Additional product information can be found at www.securepassage.com.
