Release of a Voting Rights announcement

Deutsche Telekom AG received the following notification of voting rights in
accordance with § 41 (4a) of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) on
March 18, 2008 from the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the
Federal Ministry of Finance, Bonn office, Husarenstraße 32, Bonn, Germany:

'Dear Madam, dear Sir,

We hereby inform you in accordance with § 41 (4a) sentence 1 of the German
Securities Trading Act (WpHG) that the proportion of voting rights held in
your company by the Federal Republic of Germany amounted to 31.696 %
(1,382,312,843 voting rights) on January 20, 2007. Of this amount, 16.870 %
(735,737,717 voting rights) was allocable to the Federal Republic of
Germany for the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau in accordance with § 22 (1)
sentence 1, No. 1 WpHG.
