Joseph Ackerman has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Elbit Systems Ltd. since 1996. He serves as chairman or a director on the boards of many of the companies in the Elbit Systems Group.
Mr. Ackerman joined Elbit Ltd. in 1982 and held various management positions, including Senior Vice President and General Manager - Elbit Defense Systems Division; General Manager - EFW Inc.; Senior Vice President - Operations Group; and Vice President - Advanced Battlefield Systems. Prior to joining Elbit Ltd., he owned and operated an agricultural business. Mr. Ackerman served as an officer in the Israel Air Force as a flight test engineer. He holds a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
