Peab’s comment on the ending of the strike

Peab's comment on the ending of the strike

- The building strike is over and I am relieved that it did not drag on for a
long time. I would like to welcome back staff who were prevented from returning
to their work. In recent days, we have encountered sympathy and fellow feeling
from every conceivable source including among striking staff.

Nevertheless, four working days is a long time for a project which was already
on a tight timetable before the dispute. Now we will do everything in our power,
and then some, to ensure that the delays which our 46 construction sites have
suffered affect our customers as little as possible.

We have still not received any reasonable answer from the Byggnads union as to
why it chose Peab as the target for its strike. We have asked this question
countless times and we find it remarkable that a leading player in the Swedish
labour market can call a strike without any apparent cause.

Finally, let me ask the Byggnads union straight out: “Why Peab?” asks Peab's MD
Mats Paulsson.
