HydroFlo Technology to be Profiled Worldwide on the EcoWatch TV Program

RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 19, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- HydroFlo, Inc. (OTCBB:HYRF) announced today that it has been invited to profile the Company's arsenic removal and wastewater treatment technologies on EcoWatch, a major environmental television series produced by United Media Communications Group (UMCG) and utilizing the knowledge, expertise and scientific resources of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).

A production team is scheduled to tape footage about HydroFlo's technology in North Carolina this fall. The two-minute program will cite HydroFlo as a leader in meeting rising consumer demand for compliance with the EPA and UN requirements for removing arsenic in drinking water as well as conducting pretreatment of wastewater in the pipeline systems without the use of chemicals. Removal of arsenic is a concern grabbing today's news headlines. HydroFlo provides proprietary and unique methods with accuracy that surpasses every other known technology on the market today.

Dennis L. Mast, CEO of HydroFlo, said, "The two highly sought after technologies that Hydro-Flo brings to the market reduce the need for chemicals in wastewater treatment, conserve energy, and reduce contamination in drinking water. This technology has been proven both in the lab and in the field and provides a valuable service to the public in the form of safer, better quality water."

Across the United States, 55 million households receive The National Geographic Channel, and 45 million receive the Outdoor Life Network. EcoWatch airs at strategic times during prime and peak time on these networks and also regionally on CNN, FoxNEWS, and other major cable news stations. EcoWatch is syndicated to over 50 independent stations and airs internationally on WorldNet, on stations in at least 200 cities in 127 other countries. Programmers at U.S. and foreign stations choose features called "interstitial programming" to fill airtime when gaps occur between regular broadcasts.

"The program is scheduled to air this winter and will also be available online at www.hydroflo.us for at least a year. Typically, an EcoWatch program will air over twenty times throughout our distribution chain," said John McGuire of UMCG.

Mr. McGuire said that once UMCG learned of HydroFlo, inviting the firm to participate was an easy decision.

"We were knocked out when we saw the web site. Our programs must have visually compelling entertainment value, and we thought a HydroFlo location shoot with phenomenal backdrops would fit our model perfectly. What impressed us initially was the hard science behind the technology," said Mr. McGuire.

United Media Communications Group (UMCG) of Boca Raton, Florida, produces and distributes educational television programming for a worldwide audience. The award-winning staff of UMCG has produced thousands of hours of business, environment, parenting and health programming that has reached tens of millions of television households in the United States and abroad. Under an agreement with UMCG, the United Nations Environment Programme provides story ideas and content for the new "EcoWatch" series, which seeks to expose good news about environmental solutions to today's most challenging problems. These solutions come from the private sector as well as other organizations.

"We are certainly honored to have been selected by EcoWatch to tell our story on this international scale, especially since we are a smaller company. The exposure will be terrific, and the production quality of their programs is excellent. Anything that is associated with the United Nations Environment Programme, as this show is, can only be good for us," added Mr. Mast.
