We look forward to benefiting from his judgment and experience as we continue to pursue the strategic growth objectives of the company."

Odeen, 67, was named chairman of TRW in 2002. Odeen joined TRW in 1997 with the company's acquisition of BDM, where he served as president and chief executive officer, directing the growth and evolution of the multinational information technology firm. Under his leadership, BDM grew from less than $300 million in revenue to more than $1 billion in five years.

Before joining BDM as president in 1992, Odeen was vice chairman, management consulting services, at Coopers & Lybrand, where he directed a practice of 2,500 consultants in 30 cities across the country. Earlier, he served 13 years as managing partner of the firm's public sector practice. From 1973 to 1978, he was vice president of the Wilson Sporting Goods Company.

He has served in senior positions with Office of the Secretary of Defense and the National Security Council staff. He was principal deputy assistant secretary of defense (Systems Analysis) and later led the Defense and Arms Control staff for then-National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger.

Odeen is active in various government advisory groups, primarily in the defense and national security area. In 1997, Secretary of Defense William Cohen selected him to chair the National Defense Panel, and is a member and former vice chairman of the Defense Science Board and a member of the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel. He also has chaired various Defense Science Board Task Forces on the defense industry, logistics and outsourcing.

He serves on the boards of four New York Stock Exchange companies, Avaya Inc., Convergys Corp., Reynolds and Reynolds Company, and Washington Gas Light Company. Odeen also serves on the board of Relizon, which is privately owned.
