Vitrolife's Interim Report, January - March 2002


GOTEBORG, Sweden, April 23, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Vitrolife:


 -- Net sales increased by 69% and amounted to 32,8 MSEK (19,4 MSEK).

 -- Gross profit increased by 158 % and amounted to 16,5 MSEK
    (6,4 MSEK).

 -- Operating result was improved and amounted to -4,0 MSEK
    (-13,3 MSEK).

 -- CE-mark approval was received for new coronary by pass surgery
    kit developed by business area Transplantation Systems.

 -- CE-mark approval was received for a new product for use in
    ophthalmic surgery developed by business area Biosupportive 
    Systems.
