TDC Sells Talkline in the Netherlands

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Oct. 12, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- TDC (NYSE:TLD) entered into an agreement concerning the sale of Talkline Netherlands to debitel Nederland B.V.

In 2001, TDC has thoroughly investigated the Talkline group's strategic options, including full or partial divestiture or closure, and is now in the process of implementing the necessary restructuring.

The sale of Talkline in the Netherlands is a natural consequence of the decided strategy of focussing business on the profitable mobile activities in Germany. TDC has previously sold its Internet and landline activities in the Netherlands.

"The sale of Talkline Netherlands is one more step in the restructuring process that is to make the Talkline group a sound, focused and profitable mobile company," says Henning Vest, CEO of Talkline and TDC Mobile International.

The core of Talkline is the German part of the group. Two weeks ago Henning Vest took up the position as Talkline CEO instead of Klaus Holgaard Rasmussen. Last week it was decided to close down the Internet and landline activities in Germany.
