Work Zone Cam Proudly Sponsors New MSU Construction Training and Research Lab

Donates Webcam Technology to Enhance Educational Experience

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mississippi State University's Construction Science Program recently cut the ribbon on its new Construction Training and Research Lab (CTRL). Work Zone Cam – a popular supplier of affordable time-lapse construction cameras – is a sponsor of the program and donated its webcam technology solution, which delivers a high definition look at the new training facility.

The new CTRL is the only one of its kind in the U.S. and is designed to prepare graduates for careers in the construction industry and construction-related fields. Students will learn how to manage both construction projects, as well as the business of construction. Technology is an ever-increasing presence on many jobsites, which is why the Work Zone Cam system is such an important part of the training exercises. Students will have the opportunity to use the technology in a real-life setting and understand the benefits realized from visual information tools. Views of the CTRL are available online, so the public can see the progress that the students are making: http://www.workzonecam.com/projects/mississippi1/construction/workzonecam.

"Webcam technology has changed the way that project teams are documenting their construction," said Lisa Kelly, Director of Business Development at Work Zone Cam. "By creating a hands-on experience with our time-lapse camera, students will learn how technology is shaping the construction process for more efficient communications and insightful project documentation."

"This new lab offers us the chance to train our students and keep up with the direction the construction industry is headed in regards to technology," said Roy Anderson, Professor and Director of Building Construction Science Craig D. Capano. "These students are the construction professionals of the future, and the CTRL will allow us to equip them to face this new technology in a collaborative work environment."
