David L. Rosenblum Elected Chapter President


LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced the expansion of its leadership with the election of David Rosenblum as Chapter President effective July 1, 2013. Mr. Rosenblum succeeds Mr. M. Christian Mitchell as president, and Mr. Mitchell will remain in his role as chairman.

David L. Rosenblum is a recently retired principal of Deloitte Consulting LLP where he most recently served as National Managing Director of Consulting Corporate Development. With over 30 years of experience advising complex organizations on strategy development and execution, Mr. Rosenblum has worked a broad range of issues for organizations in a wide variety of industries. In addition to his client work, he has led or been a key advisor to multiple strategy development efforts for Deloitte; led a multi-year research effort focused on the topic of business model innovation; served on various Deloitte governance committees; and prior to becoming the NMD for Consulting Corporate Development, he was COO for the Strategy and Operations practice, as well as the national service line leader for corporate and competitive strategy. He is a member of the board of directors of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and is a trustee of Wesleyan University. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of Deloitte Consulting LLP and former chairman of The Echo Foundation, which operates an elementary school for hearing and hearing-impaired children. Mr. Rosenblum received a BA in economics from Wesleyan, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA in finance from Wharton.

NACD Southern California Chairman M. Christian Mitchell has been an NACD member and director since 2004. Currently, Mitchell serves as the vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Marshall & Stevens. He is a director of Parsons Corporation, an ESOP-owned global engineering, construction and professional services firm; Western Asset Mortgage Capital Corporation, a mortgage REIT managed by Western Asset Management Company; Grandpoint Capital, a multi-billion dollar Los Angeles-based bank holding company; Reis, Inc., a New York-based real estate information company; and Special Value Opportunities Fund LLC, a registered investment fund managed by Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC. He is formerly a director of two multi-billion dollar bank holding companies and an advisory board member of a multi-billion dollar fund of fund hedge fund. Mr. Mitchell is a retired Deloitte senior partner and served as the National or Regional Managing Partner for various practices including audit, enterprise risk services, and financial services during his 26-year career. He was founding member of the board of directors of Deloitte Consulting USA. In addition, Mr. Mitchell served as an Accounting Fellow to the Federal Home Loan Board in Washington, D.C.  He has served as an adjunct professor of accounting at the University of Redlands. He is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and in 2011 and 2012 was named "one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance" by Directorship magazine. Mr. Mitchell is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama.
