Six Leading Hospitals Make HCAHPS Scores and Patient Satisfaction Top Priorities by Adding Skylight ACCESS Interactive Patient Care Systems

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 16, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Skylight Healthcare Systems®, the leading provider of interactive patient systems, announced today that it has partnered with six leading hospitals to install and deploy Skylight ACCESS®. Already installed in more than 70 hospitals across the country, hospitals utilizing Skylight ACCESS have been able to show improved patient satisfaction results, HCAHPS scores, and documented compliance with Joint Commission requirements. Adding to the 10 new clients who have launched with Skylight since early 2010, the most recent hospitals to join the Skylight family are:

  • El Paso Children's Hospital – El Paso, TX

  • Mission Trail Baptist Hospital – San Antonio, TX

  • Orthopedic and Spine Inpatient Surgical Hospital (OASIS) - Phoenix, AZ

  • Palisades Medical Center – North Bergen, NJ

  • University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center – Beachwood, OH

  • University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center – Richmond Heights, OH

  • University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center – Cleveland, OH

In light of a reformed healthcare landscape, more and more hospitals are turning to Skylight to help them meet anticipated mandates as well as internal quality initiatives. With a percentage of Medicare reimbursements depending in part on their HCAHPS scores, hospitals now understand that this translates to hundreds of thousands of dollars at risk. "Our clients are ahead of the curve and can begin gauging their performance across the HCAHPS categories now, and leverage the system to address areas that need improvement even before health reform takes effect," said David Schofield, President and CEO of Skylight Healthcare Systems. "Our partnership with our clients has helped us build and deliver advanced solutions that produce great patient engagement and a healthier bottom line."

Additional metrics show improvements in nursing and physician satisfaction, cost savings, health education delivery, bed turnover, and overall service excellence. Skylight's interactive patient solutions allow hospitals to personalize the patient experience and streamline processes which take the administrative load off of nurses and allow them to focus on clinical care.
