Consumer Health Sciences Appoints Samuel Wagner as Vice President, Health Economics Outcomes Research


PRINCETON, N.J., July 1, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Consumer Health Sciences (CHS), a leading source of disease-specific, consumer-reported health data, announces the appointment of Samuel Wagner, PhD, RPh as Vice President, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR).

Dr. Wagner will lead CHS's expanding HEOR function, which includes conducting research based on its National Health and Wellness Survey (NHWS), consulting, and supporting or producing medical abstracts, manuscripts, presentations and posters. He will also be responsible for encouraging cross-functional collaborations, helping companies optimize their use of research by leveraging data across both marketing research and outcomes research functions.

Dr. Wagner has held similar positions at leading pharmaceutical companies, including Pharmacia, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca. Most recently, he held the positions of Field Economics Director, External Medical Relations and Director and Group Leader of Respiratory HEOR at AstraZeneca.

A registered pharmacist, Dr. Wagner received his Ph.D. in pharmacoeconomics and Master in Pharmacy Practice from Northwest University in South Africa. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota, and has authored numerous journal articles, posters and presentations.
