West Virginia High Tech Consortium Conducts Public Safety Exercise Utilizing Critical Solutions' Alternative Energy Communication Towers

CLEVELAND, May 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Critical Solutions Inc. (Pink Sheets:CSLI) , the designer of renewable energy tower systems, reports that the Company's Titan and Mojo systems are currently being utilized in military and emergency response exercises by the West Virginia High Technology Consortium (WVHTC) Foundation. The exercises are being conducted by RespondComm, an initiative of the WVHTC Foundation and a National Institute of Justice-sponsored program.

RespondComm currently is utilizing two of the Company's rapidly-deployable tower platforms with integrated non-traditional power solutions. Critical Solutions' towers are being incorporated into the RespondComm framework to provide network extension and to fill coverage gaps, as well as rapidly deployable platforms for emergency network setup. RespondComm was designed to evaluate the emerging WiMAX wireless broadband standards and to assess the applicability of these networks for law enforcement, public safety, and emergency response communications.

According to Pat Gallagher, Critical Power Solutions International, Inc. President, "Our mobile units are ideal for emergency responders. They offer communications coverage and connectivity in circumstances where grid power and communication infrastructures are not available or have been destroyed. Such circumstances arise from natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and ice storms as well as during terrorist attacks. We have the unique ability to provide a proven and reliable communications platform that can be rapidly deployed and functional in minutes without reliance on grid based power or fossil fuels."

The exercise demonstrates the system's capabilities in the context of a mock disaster scenario. The demonstrations incorporate human-to-human communications, human-to-machine communications, machine-to-machine communications and deployment of temporary communications using collapsible towers. According to WVHTC these exercises have been a complete success, with Critical Solutions' Titan and Mojo products offering a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional powered communication towers.

Critical Solutions Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Critical Power Solutions International, Inc., manufactures and sells a line of patent-pending, self-powered trailer systems that can be rapidly deployed to power physical security and communication requirements for areas where power is difficult to obtain, or where conventional power means are too expensive to deploy. The company utilizes non-traditional power sources such as solar, wind, and hydrogen to provide efficient recovery, backup and primary power systems. The Company's alternative energy trailer systems have been chosen by a top defense contractor to secure a nuclear power plant, by the Federal Bureau of Prisons for Emergency Response Teams, and to the Marines for emergency communications.
