Douglas Lake Minerals Update -- Portfolio of Tanzanian Mining Concessions Grows to 51

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Harp Sangha, CEO/President of Douglas Lake Minerals Inc. (OTCBB:DLKM), provides this update. "In the past two years, management has worked diligently to assemble a portfolio of 51 prospective Tanzanian mining properties containing showings of gold, base metals, coal, uranium, PGM and diamonds concessions, representing one of the largest land positions held," stated Harp Sangha. "Dr. David Ian Groves, the noted former Professor of Economic Geology and Director of the University Western Australia's Centre for Global Metallogeny showed great interest in our portfolio. His appointment to our Board brings a wealth of world-class geological mining experience."

DLKM TANZANIAN TEAM HAS BEGUN WORK

With its new Tanzanian team of exploration and mining specialists, DLKM has begun its own work program. To date, we have started exploration work on our uranium, coal, base metal and PGM properties, as well as the gold properties that are not part of the Canaco alliance. We expect to provide news shortly on the selected properties where Phase One exploration programs have begun.

MOROGORO GOLD PROPERTY

DLKM was pleased with the early exploration results at Morogoro and our partner is planning to do more exploration work to earn its 70% interest.

MAGEMBE DIAMOND PROPERTY

Canaco negotiated an option to earn a 75% interest in DLKM's 46 square kilometer Magembe Diamond property, located next to the Williamson Mine which produced over 20 million carats.

KWADIJAVA AND NEGERO PROPERTIES

Canaco contracted an option on our Kwadijava and Negero properties located in an area that has seen spectacular local artisanal gold rushes. The upside potential is the possibility of a "new gold camp" similar to Abitibi or Western Australia, a theory supported by DLKM director Dr. Groves' thesis on the geology of this region. He states, "Recent gold discoveries in this emerging gold exploration camp have already defined mineralization over a strike length of 100 kms. This region demonstrates the potential for a discovery of world-class, Archean orogenic gold deposits possibly similar to Anglo's Geita mine in Tanzania, which has proven reserves of 30 million ounces."
