Women First HealthCare Reaffirms Guidance for 2002

SAN DIEGO, July 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Women First Chairman, President and CEO Edward F. Calesa announced today that the company is comfortable with its ability to meet the financial guidance outlined in the press release following the acquisition of Vaniqa(r).

"We expect our 2002 results will not be materially affected by the recent announcements and speculation concerning hormone replacement therapy. The recent news has certainly had a negative impact on our stock price," Calesa noted. "However, the news should not have a material impact on that which we can control -- our business and how we operate it. We are therefore reaffirming our guidance of between $46 and $50 million in revenue and $.21 and $.24 in earnings for 2002. We have not yet provided guidance for 2003."
