Women First HealthCare Included in Russell 2000 Index


SAN DIEGO, Calif., July 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Women First HealthCare, Inc. (Nasdaq:WFHC) today announced that its common stock has been included in the Russell 2000(r) Index, a leading investment ranking of small cap stocks compiled by Frank Russell Company.

Membership in Russell's 21 U.S. equity indexes, which are frequently used as benchmarks for investment strategies, is determined by total market capitalization as of May 31. Frank Russell Company estimates $250 billion is invested in index funds based on Russell's indexes. A recent benchmark survey ranked the small cap Russell 2000 Index as the second most commonly used benchmark in the U.S. equity market.

The addition of Women First's stock was part of the annual reconstitution of the Russell indexes. The new indexes are effective July 1, 2002 and remain in place for one year.
