Digital Descriptor Systems, Inc. Announces First Commercial Market Sale of New Fingerprint Matching System (FMS)


FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa., Nov. 15, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Digital Descriptor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:DDSI) a leading designer and marketer of digitized imaging systems and biometric identification solutions for the criminal justice and security markets, today announced the first non-criminal justice market sale of its new Fingerprint Matching System (FMS) the only fully scaleable fingerprint identification system in the world designed to take full advantage of the Windows(r) NT/2000 environment.

FMS was first launched in September of this year, the system sale announced today has been acquired by a county's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the purposes of identifying and tracking its homeless population.

The county will be integrating the FMS SDK with an existing application developed in Lotus Notes, which contains all the necessary demographic information. FMS will be used to track the homeless population that resides at the county's shelter providing positive identification for staff members.
